They saw a car parked with one person sitting behind the wheel. He was then joined by Matthew Smith.

The 27-year-old got sat talking with the driver for several minutes.

When officers approached the car there was a strong smell of cannabis coming from inside.

The Derwent Road, Tonbridge, resident admitted to having three bags of the drug and was arrested. He also had cocaine on him.

Smith's home was searched and a mobile and notebook with details about his deals and profits recovered.

He initially denied the offences but pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of Class B drugs and being concerned in the supply of Class B drugs.

He was sentenced to three years and four months in prison during a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on Tuesday, July 7.

Investigating officer PC John Fordham said: "The misuse of drugs can cause misery to people’s lives and those who commit such crimes will be arrested and put before the courts.

"We urge members of the public to report any suspicious behaviour.

"By continuing to work together we can ensure Kent remains a safe place to live."
