Fire crews called to blaze at a rural property near Tonbridge

Fire crews are this morning tackling a blaze at a rural property.

Five fire engines and a bulk water carrier have been sent to the scene of the fire on Marle Place Road in Brenchley near Tonbridge after being called around 6am.

It is not yet known how the fire started, and at this stage no casualties have been reported.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus are tackling the fire with high-pressure hose reel jets.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: "Good progress is being made at scene of an outbuilding fire in Marle Place Road and crews have the fire surrounded.

"People living and working nearby are advised to keep windows and doors closed due to smoke coming from the incident."
