Five injured and one rescued from car after two vehicle crash in Upper Haysden Lane in Tonbridge

A man had to be rescued from his car after a crash injured five people.

Firefighters were called to Upper Haysden Lane in Tonbridge just after 5pm after a collision involving two cars.

Two engines were at the scene when the one of the male casualties was rescued from the wreckage. He was trapped by injuries in one of the vehicles.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "Working closely with paramedics, crews created space to allow the casualty to be assessed and removed to a waiting ambulance."

Four other casualties were treated for their injuries before being removed from the scene.

Crews left the scene just over an hour later at 6.11pm.

Kent police and the ambulance service were also in attendance.
