Lorry blocks road outside Tonbridge police station

Frustrated bus passengers were left stuck in traffic after a lorry parked blocking a narrow town centre road.

The vehicle, owned by paper and hard drive destruction firm Shred-it, was photographed blocking St Stephen's Street outside Tonbridge police station.

Hannah Janssen says she and about 40 other passengers were left stuck on a London-bound commuter coach for about half an hour, unable to pass until the lorry had moved.

She tweeted Shred-it, saying: "Top work due to your driver parking on double yellow lines outside Tonbridge police station.

"He has blocked the road and my work coach has been sat here for 20 minutes. Absolutely shameful."

She also tagged police, urging them to do something.

A police spokesman responded, saying the station has been made aware of the situation.

Police and Shred-it have been approached for comment.

This is not the first time inconsiderate parking has made headlines in Kent - we've had everything from a car being left perched precariously over a wall to a coach getting stuck on a roundabout.
