Alleged horsebox thieves caught in the act at Five Oak Green

Two suspected thieves have been arrested near Tonbridge during attempts to steal a horsebox.

Police was called to a report of a theft in progress in Sychem Lane, Five Oak Green, at around 1.45pm yesterday.

They found the suspects using an angle grinder to remove a security mechanism on the horse box.

Two men, aged 53 and 33, and both from Surrey, were arrested as they attempted to flee the scene.

The horsebox had been hitched to their van. Their van was also seized.

Work is ongoing to identify the owner of the horsebox and both men were later released pending further investigation.
