Man charged after rail staff attacked at Tonbridge

A man has been arrested after rail staff were threatened and attacked.

Officers from British Transport Police were called to Tonbridge Railway Station on Saturday night after receiving reports that a man had been threatening and assaulting Southeastern workers.

A BTP tweet afterwards said: "Officers arrived and arrested the male for three cases of assault. He then decided to smash a light for which he was further arrested for. He remains in custody."

In a further tweet today, BTP added that a man had since been charged with assault by beating and threatening behaviour and criminal damage at Tonbridge police station.

He has been remanded in custody and is expected to appear in court tomorrow morning.
