Coronavirus Kent: Tonbridge pub, The Carpenters Arms, in free beer offer to NHS staff

A pub is giving away free beer to NHS staff tomorrow evening.

The Carpenters Arms, in Tonbridge is operating a takeaway-only service for NHS workers, with free booze to sweeten the deal.

A statement on The Three Elm Lane pub's Instagram page said: "We must stay as a community and work together, this means being there for those as they are there for us."

The takeaway service will run from 6-8pm, and the business stressed it was following government guidelines.

On Friday, Boris Johnson ordered all pubs and restaurants to close, but outlets are allowed to run as takeaways.

Customers are asked to bring their own containers and glasses.
