A26 London Road at Bidborough closes after tree falls

A road has re-opened after being blocked by a fallen tree this morning.

Police were on site along the A26 London Road at Bidborough, between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, after the tree fell near the junction with Bidborough Ridge.

It was discovered by officers at 5.35am.

Tree surgeons were called to the road to help clear the obstruction, which was removed at 9.15am.

During the road closure, Kent County Council's Highways team asked drivers to approach the area with caution and to use alternative routes.

But the road is now open again in both directions.
