Crash on A21 Sevenoaks Bypass

Three people were taken to hospital after a "serious" two-car crash on the A21 Sevenoaks Bypass.

Highways officials closed the northbound stretch between the A225 and the A25.

Kent Police was called to the scene at 6.31pm and there were initially said to be long delays in the area.

One man has been arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit and careless driving.

While attending the incident a stationary police vehicle was subsequently involved in a collision with a third vehicle.

No serious injuries have been reported.

Traffic was being diverted via local routes.

The road was reopened at 9.40pm.

Ambulance crews said none of those taken to hospital were believed to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

A spokesman for SECAmb said: "The air ambulance service joined us at the scene in one of their road vehicles.

"Three patients were treated at the scene before being taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital."
