Trains were cancelled this morning following reports of a landslide.
But services can now run in both directions between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks after the landslip near Hildenborough.
At 12.08pm, Southestern said trains would now be using the same track, taking turns to go past the affected area. Where this won't be possible, they will divert via Maidstone East or Redhill.
The train operator said: “We have received reports of a landslip near Hildenborough affecting the line from Tonbridge to Sevenoaks.
“Network Rail staff have been called and are on their way to the site to carry out safety inspections of the track. They are expected on site at 12.50pm.
“Please allow extra time to complete your journey and check before you travel. Replacement buses are now on site and will run between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.”
Disruption is expected until 2pm.
In a joint statement, Network Rail and Southeastern said: “We’re really sorry for the disruption our passengers are experiencing between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks due to a landslip near Hildenborough.
“Initially, we had to close the line in both directions for safety reasons while our team of engineers inspected the damage.
“We were quickly able to get trains running again in both directions by using one of the two tracks, with trains taking turns to pass the affected area.
“At 2pm, after further safety inspections, we were able to reopen both lines, albeit with a speed limit of 20mph.
“We're investigating what kind of repair is needed and how long that will take and will update passengers as soon as we have more information.”
