Police helicopter called after five vans reported stolen from outside school in Tonbridge

Five people including a teenage boy have been arrested after five vans were reported stolen from outside a school in Tonbridge.

Officers were called just after 10pm last night and police helicopters were used to help find the vehicles.

Another vehicle linked to the offences was also located and brought to a stop by a stinger on the A227 at Ightham, where five people fled on foot before being arrested.

Three men aged between 22, 27 and 34 were arrested on suspicion of theft along with a 17-year-old boy and a 33-year-old woman.

All remain in custody whilst inquiries continue.

All five vehicles and a number of power tools were recovered.
