League leaders Tonbridge Angels are loving life going into FA Cup weekend

Tonbridge are enjoying every minute of their early-season form.

Angels are six points clear at the top of the Bostik Premier after goals from Alex Read and Jared Small in a 2-0 win at Brightlingsea Regent last weekend.

And with confidence sky-high, they travel to National South club Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday looking for an upset in the FA Cup second qualifying round.

Manager Steve McKimm said: "Anyone will tell you when you're winning games of football there's a buzz about the place.

"It's good and you want it to continue you for as long as you can.

"We know football can change very quickly so we've got to enjoy every bit of it at the minute.

"We're working hard and getting our rewards.

"People want to listen and learn, regardless of how old they are, which helps massively.

"From day one of pre-season to now, they've bought into what we want to do.

"We can do all the tactics as a management team, before and during games, but they're the ones who go out and deliver.

"Considering what happened last year, it's nice to see us six points clear, even if it is only seven games.

"I'd rather be in the position we are now than being down the bottom trying to accumulate points.

"The fans are embracing it but there's a long way to go.

"I'm not stupid enough to think there won't be a roadblock ahead somewhere."

There's £9,000 in prize money up for grabs in the FA Cup this weekend.

Dulwich made a slow start in National South following promotion but they go into the Angels tie on a high after winning 2-1 at leaders Woking last weekend.

McKimm said: "Forget what we're doing in the league, we're underdogs because we're in the league below.

"We can go there with no fear, enjoy it and give the best account of ourselves that we can.

"Dulwich will be full of confidence after that result against Woking and they got a good draw against Wealdstone the week before.

"They'll be looking at us as the lower-league side thinking they should beat us. We're not expected to win."
