Champions Tonbridge Juddians failed to end their National League 2 East season on a high with a 41-19 defeat at runners-up Dorking.
The hosts had it all their own way in the second half but the early signs were that it was going to be a combative match. Both sides overstepped the mark in the opening quarter, with Dorking seeing red and TJs yellow.
Neither side though could find time and space to dominate the ball or territory and while Tonbridge opened the scoring with a Duncan Tout try and Sam Evans conversion after 20 minutes, Dorking hit back with a converted score from the restart.
Another card for Dorking after 25 minutes - this time yellow - failed to ignite TJs in attack and the half ended honours even.
The home team were playing with the slope after the interval and went immediately on the offensive. They scored five tries in quick succession in the third quarter to pull clear at 38-7.
TJs rallied with scores from Connor Lloyd and a second from Tout, but that was the end of their resistance.
With the game over Judds received the National League 2 East trophy and their medals after a season featuring 22 wins and just four defeats.
The champions finished six points clear of Dorking and can look forward to trips to the likes of Sale, Plymouth and Leeds next term.
