Air ambulance called to A26 Eridge Road in Tunbridge Wells after two-car crash

An air ambulance has been called following a two-car crash along a main route.

The A26 Eridge Road on the edge of Tunbridge Wells, close to the border with Sussex, has been sealed off in both directions since 3.10pm today.

Reports suggest traffic in the area has been slow since the incident took place between The Forstal and Boarshead roundabout at about 2.30pm.

An air ambulance has landed nearby and police are in attendance.

A spokesman for the force said: "Police are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on the A26 between Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells.

"The road has been closed between Boarshead roundabout and The Forstal.

"Please avoid the area if you can."
