Baton, lock knife, cocaine and £2,000 in cash seized in Tunbridge Wells

Drugs and thousands of pounds have been seized after police spotted a weapon in a car.

The Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team was in London Road on Tuesday when they noticed an extendable baton in a parked vehicle.

Officers seized the baton and discovered what is thought to be cocaine.

More drugs were found following a search of a home nearby, as well as £2,000 in cash and a lock knife.

Sadri Gega, 53, of no fixed address, was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place, possession of criminal property and possession of an identity document with intent.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates' Court today and was remanded in custody.

His next hearing will be at Maidstone Crown Court on February 5.
