The 33-year-old, who is originally from Bulgaria but has been living in Britain since 2014, is accused of causing their injuries on November 2, 2023, after he crashed into another car and another parked vehicle.

He appeared before magistrates in Medway on Thursday, May 22.

Boshmakov, of The Ridings, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, denied two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and one count of dangerous driving when he appeared in the dock.

Magistrates heard he is accused of driving dangerously and injuring his partner, Nora Chakarova, and their unborn child.

Boshmakov’s partner was said to be heavily pregnant at the time of the crash.

Prosecutor, Rajni Prashar, said: “The cases are not suitable to be dealt with in this court and should be sent to the crown court.”

Magistrates agreed the cases were beyond their sentencing powers and sent them to Maidstone Crown Court to be dealt with.

Boshmakov, who was supported during the hearing by his partner at the back of the court, was granted bail until his next hearing.

That will be held at Maidstone Crown Court on June 20.
