Knife and drugs seized after car stopped in Tunbridge Wells

A driver has been charged after a weapon and drugs were found in his vehicle during a police stop in Tunbridge Wells.

Officers pulled over a suspicious vehicle in North Farm Road yesterday, Monday. When they searched the vehicle they found a knife and quantities of cannabis and cocaine.

When the driver was searched in the custody suite at the police station more drugs were found in his underwear.

Nicolita Mihai, 28, of Grange Road, Tunbridge Wells, is accused of possessing a knife in a public place, possessing cocaine with intent to supply and with possessing cannabis.

He was remanded to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, November 10.

The stop was part of a crackdown on knife crime by police forces across the country, name Operation Sceptre.
