Driver of Land Rover who died at King's College Hospital following a crash on the A21 near Pembury is named

A driver killed in a crash on the A21 has been named.

Maximilian Paul Roberts died of his injuries at King's College Hospital following the accident near Pembury on the southbound carriageway between the junction with the A26 and the junction with Longfield Road.

The 67-year-old was at the wheel of a parked blue Land Rover Discovery when a white Iveco Daily van collided with it shortly before 11am on August 27.

Kent Police officers were joined at the scene by firefighters, ambulance crews and the air ambulance. A female passenger in the Land Rover was also taken to the London hospital with serious injuries.

Officers from Kent Police's serious collision investigation unit are conducting an investigation and would like to speak with anyone who has information who has not yet been in contact.

They would also like to obtain dash camera footage, or privately held CCTV, that captures either the collision or the vehicles in the moments leading up to it.

Traffic was gridlocked for more than three hours as a result of the accident, with police closing the road between A26 Woodgate Way and Longfield Road.
