Ex-Ferrari F1 team principal Stefano Domenicali helps open Tunbridge Wells Lamborghini showroom

A former Formula One chief helped unveil the latest Lamborghini showroom to open in the UK with orders already being taken for cars costing £200,000.

The Italian luxury car manufacturer opened its outlet in Tunbridge Wells earlier this week with the help of former Ferrari F1 team principal Stefano Domenicali.

The dealership in Dowding Way boasts a range of dream cars including the £270,000 Aventador.

The Kent location puts the UK dealer network at nine authorized outlets, as the marque heads into 2019 and the first full year of deliveries to customers of its new Urus Super SUV.

The opening event, attended by Lamborghini chairman and chief executive Stefano Domenicali, hosted 200 guests and VIPs in the 300 sqm car showroom and dedicated aftersales centre.

He said: “The UK is a significant and growing market for Lamborghini. The investment made by our partners in new dealerships, both here and around the world, reflects our brand’s growing appeal, particularly among a broader audience attracted by the new Lamborghini Urus.”

“This, the third model for Lamborghini, adds to the unparalleled Lamborghini product range of V10 Huracán and V12 Aventador. This new UK facility perfectly represents the marque, not only in terms of our corporate identity but most importantly as an environment to present our expanding model line-up, to a diverse and growing client base.”

Operated by Grange, part of Cambria Automobiles plc, this is the second Lamborghini dealership for the group. The first, in Chelmsford, Essex, opened earlier this year.

“The addition of the Tunbridge Wells dealership consolidates the service we provide to Lamborghini guests in the South East of England,” said Mark Lavery, chief executive of Cambria Automobiles.

“Grange has a strong provenance in luxury and performance motor retailing, and we are focused on representing the brand in the best way possible from our two locations.”

The UK is the largest market for Lamborghini in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. During 2017 Lamborghini delivered more than 350 cars in the UK, up 8% on the previous year.

The 2018 year is also extremely positive, with more than 500 units already sold to the end of October.

First customer deliveries have just commenced of the new Urus Super SUV.

Featuring a 4.0 litre V8 twin-turbo engine delivering 650hp, the Urus accelerates from zero to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and, with a top speed of 190 mph, is the fastest SUV available.

The Lamborghini Urus retails in the UK from £165,000 on the road.
