The freehold of the Tudor-style former public house, situated on London Road at Southborough, has a guide price of £900,000.

It pays an annual rent of £96,000 on a lease expiring in 2037. The restaurant will remain open.

There is a large outdoor seating area and onsite parking.

John Mehtab, director of auctioneers Acuitus, said: "The property is an impressive building positioned which is something of a landmark in this affluent residential district.

"It is let on a long lease which will be attractive to investors."

Bidding can go ahead online, by telephone, or by proxy, with further details available on the Acuitus website.

The auction will take place on Thursday, December 15 at 1.30pm, and will be broadcast via livestream on the auctioneers' website.

The restaurant has a 4.5 star rating on review website TripAdvisor and is ranked as Southborough's fourth best eatery.
