The new owners of troubled music retailer HMV have had a change of heart about closing a store which had been set for closure after its takeover.
The shop in the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre in Tunbridge Wells has re-opened, to the delight of staff and shoppers alike.
It was only at the start of this month that Sunrise, the new Canadian owners of the HMV chain, announced that the Tunbridge Wells branch was one of 27 of the company's 127 stores that would close immediately.
However, a change of heart has seen the shop reopen, just over a week after the company made the same u-turn over its shop in Bluewater.
Managing director, Neil Taylor, said: "I am extremely proud of our staff who are the most knowledgeable and committed people you will meet, and so it is extremely gratifying to see this store open again.
"I greatly appreciate the support of all our customers and the landlord which made re-opening this store possible."
Other doomed branches to be reopened include Reading, Sheffield Meadowhall, Glasgow Braehead and Bath.
