Stephen Hilder killed after being hit by Land Rover in Chapman Way, High Brooms near Tunbridge Wells

A pedestrian killed after being hit by a car has been named as Stephen Hilder.

The man, in his 70s, died at the scene of the accident near Tunbridge Wells.

It happened on Friday, January 4 at around 8.20am in a car park in Chapman Way off North Farm Road, High Brooms.

Since his death, flowers and cards paying tribute have been left nearby.

The driver of the grey Land Rover Freelander, a man in his 50s from Tunbridge Wells, was earlier arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and is in police custody.

Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the collision and have urged anyone with dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision to contact them.
