Gordon Farnes named locally as man killed in Tunbridge Wells

The man stabbed to death in Tunbridge Wells has been named locally as Gordon Farnes.

Mr Farnes, 43, died from his injuries at the scene in Sherwood Road.

A knife was recovered by police, who have arrested a 28-year-old on suspicion of murder.

It is understood the two men were known to each other.

According to his Facebook profile, Mr Farnes hailed from West Ham but went to Sandown Court Community College in Pembury.

Tributes to him have been paid on social media.

John Street wrote on Facebook: "Rip Gordon Farnes may the person who murdered you rot in hell."

He added: "Amanda Farnes sorry for your loss hun."

Police and ambulance crews were called yesterday at 10.42am.

The air ambulance had landed at Temple Grove Academy, shortly before noon.
