Baxall Construction began the works in March, which will see the car park have wider parking bays, new lighting, improved signage and ANPR cameras.

Resurfacing and structural repairs will also be taking place, as well as a redecoration.

Solar PV panels are being installed on the top deck to provide sustainable energy for both the shopping centre and the car park.

Works are expected to take 15 months and are scheduled to be completed by June 2026.

The car park will be fully closed during June and July but will remain open for the rest of the year.

However, there may be times when some parking spaces will not be available while work is taking place in that area.

Alternative parking is available in Meadow Road and Crescent Road.

A spokesperson for Tunbridge Wells borough council said: “Due to the nature of the work it will sometimes be necessary to carry out noisy operations.

“Baxall Construction will do their best to keep noise levels as low as possible and will take all practical precautions to contain any noise within the site.”
