Man arrested after allegedly threatening people with kitchen knife in Dorking Road, Tunbridge Wells

A police helicopter was scrambled to reports of a man allegedly threatening people with a kitchen knife in a residential street.

Officers were called to Dorking Road in Tunbridge Wells at around 7.40pm yesterday after calls from concerned members of the public.

The man is said to have left the scene before they arrived and a search, involving the force’s helicopter, began.

At around 10.40pm he was reported to have been outside an address in Quarry Hill Road, Tonbridge.

Police were then led to near Vauxhall Lane and at 12.50am this morning a 30-year-old man was arrested.

The suspect was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries and later taken into custody.
