Police seize weapons and drugs from car in Tunbridge Wells

A man has been charged after police seized a Rambo-style knife from a car.

On Friday (May 16), patrols followed a suspicious vehicle in Tunbridge Wells town centre.

Officers stopped the Ford C-Max in Grosvenor Park and the driver was detained.

Searches led to the discovery of a knife, a metal baseball bat, a large amount of cannabis and £120 in cash.

Sam Walker, of no fixed address, but formerly from East Sussex, was taken into custody and charged with possessing a knife in a public place, possessing an offensive weapon and possessing drugs with intent to supply.

The 22-year-old was also charged with failing to stop a motor vehicle when required to do so by a police officer.

He was remanded into custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today (May 19).
