Signalling fault halts trains between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings

Train passengers travelling between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings today (Saturday) had to use buses because of faulty signals.

Southeastern tweeted: "Because of a signalling problem, trains are currently unable to run between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings."

Replacement buses were ordered and booked to run from Tunbridge Wells at 10am and from Hastings at 10.30am.

Tickets were allowed to be used between Hastings and Ashford International, High Speed trains between Ashford and St Pancras International, London, and Arriva bus routes 7 and 402 between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

Network Rail engineers were on site at 10am and took half an hour to repair the fault so trains could run again.

But Southeastern warned: "There may be delays and alterations whilst we return services to normal. Replacement buses will continue to run when required."
