Train passengers get replacement bus after tree falls on tracks at Frant Between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings

Rail passengers were forced to take replacement buses to continue their journeys after a tree fell on the tracks.

The tree, which is obstructing trains at Frant fell onto the Hastings Line around 11.30am. Passengers were stuck in carriages before the train reversed back to the station.

Buses are now en route to Hastings and Tunbridge Wells railways stations and are expected to arrive to collect passengers at around 12.30pm.

Tickets are also being in accepted for Southern services from Hastings to Ashford and Southeastern High Speed services from Ashford to St Pancras.

This comes after a yellow weather warning of winds of up to 60mph was issued for the county.

The line reopened just after 1pm.
