Two stores offering sweet treats are expanding in the county.
Mr Simms Sweet Shop and Sumo Donuts are coming to Royal Victoria Place in Tunbridge Wells.
The confectionary retailer already has more than 50 stores, including branches in Tonbridge, Bluewater and Canterbury, but is opening another branch at the shopping centre on May 8.
Meanwhile, Sumo Donuts, which sells indulgent brownie-loaded and berry-topped treats, has opened its latest addition to the franchise in Tunbridge Wells.
The doughnuts are baked in small batches and are handcrafted, with husband-and-wife team Su and Mike Molnar opening their first shop in the centre of Canterbury three years ago.
In January, they launched another Sumo Donuts store at Willesborough Industrial Park off the A2070 in Ashford.
And it will be a busy year for the owners with another opening in Folkestone’s Creative Quarter this summer.
Mansoor Asar, cofounder and franchisee of the Mr Simms Sweet Shop in Fiveways Mall at the shopping centre, said he was “thrilled” to bring retro British sweets to the area.
“We hope to create a space that evokes fond memories and brings joy to customers of all ages,” he added.
A third retailer is also opening at Royal Victoria Place. Face Workshop is offering a wide range of skin treatments, medical-grade facials and anti-wrinkle treatments.
Georgina White, clinic owner and manager of the business, brings 10 years of nursing experience within the NHS and is trained to Level 7 through Harley Academy in London.
She said: “I am proud to bring a unique combination of medical aesthetics and dermatology to our new clinic in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.
“I am passionate about delivering evidence-based, holistic skin care that not only transforms the skin but also provides patients with a space to relax, recharge, and achieve real, lasting results.”
The clinic also offers offers facials with Allergan’s DiamondGlow device, SkinPen microneedling, chemical peels, Dermalux LED light therapy, anti-wrinkle treatments and uses skincare brands such as Obagi and Alumier MD.
Speaking about the arrival of three new businesses, Nicky Blancard, centre manager at Royal Victoria Place, said: “We are thrilled to welcome more exciting new retailers to Royal Victoria Place and to Ely Court.
“We hope that customers will enjoy the eclectic mix of retailers and continue to support the growing number of brands and independent stores at the centre.”
The new stores are joining Even Flow, VR Racing, SOBE Burger, Spicy ‘N’ Nice, Woofs, the Dog Groomers, Sweet Temptations Cakery, Bowl Delight and soon to open Karibu.
