Leutrim Citaku charged with possessing cocaine and dangerous driving in Tunbridge Wells

A man who allegedly crashed his car after driving away from police has been charged by police.

Officers were patrolling Kingswood Road in Tunbridge Wells on Sunday evening when they spotted a suspicious BMW.

It is alleged the vehicle drove away at speed before colliding with parked cars and a lamp post in Delves Avenue, where the driver left the scene.

Police were not pursuing the vehicle before the alleged crash.

A search of the area located Leutrim Citaku in woodland near Forest Road, Hawkenbury.

They also seized a quantity of cash and a package from a front garden thought to contain cocaine.

Citaku, 20, of Queripel Close, Tunbridge Wells, was later charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply, dangerous driving, driving without insurance and possession of cash believed to be the proceeds of crime.

Citaku has been remanded in custody and will stand trial on May 13 at Maidstone Crown Court.
