Bells Yew Green youngsters crowned champs

MEMBERS of Bells Yew Green Cricket Club near Tunbridge Wells had cause to celebrate when their under-9s team were crowned champions of Kent after winning the final of the Super 8s cricket tournament at Gore Court.

Having won all their games in the qualifying competition held earlier in the year, Bells Yew Green won all six games on finals day, including victories over Gore Court and St Lawrence, Canterbury, to reach the final.

In a close match BYG beat last year’s winners Mackenade of Faversham by four runs.
