Fire in Sandhurst house as fridge freezer found as cause

Firefighters descended on a village after a blaze broke out inside a house.

Crews were called to Sandhurst, near Cranbrook, after a fridge freezer in the kitchen of the house caught fire.

It started at 6.30am and crews spent around 90 minutes putting out the fire.

Three fire engines were sent to the scene in Church Road.

No injuries were reported due to the fire and the cause is thought to have started in the fridge freezer.

A spokesman for the fire service said: "On arrival crews found smoke issuing from the kitchen and wearing breathing apparatus entered the property.

"The fire was extinguished using hose reel jets and main jets.

"There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is believed to have started in the fridge freezer."
