Man charged with burglaries in Horsmonden and Lamberhurst

A man has appeared in court after three burglaries in the Weald on the same day.

A bank card, passport and tools were stolen on Saturday, June 25, after break-ins at two properties near Furnace Lane, Horsmonden, and another at School Hill, Lamberhurst.

Michael Cherry, of no fixed address, was arrested on Monday and charged with three counts of burglary.

He has also been charged with an offence of stalking and with possessing cocaine.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty to one of the burglaries, but admitted all the other charges.

The 35-year-old was remanded in custody until his next hearing, which will take place at Maidstone Crown Court on July 26.
