Kent Police arrest Chatham man in Marden carrying a bundle of credit cards and mobile phones

A haul of credit cards and mobile phones were found by police in the rucksack of man who was "acting suspiciously" in a village.

The suspected fraudster, in his 30s and from Chatham, was arrested on suspicion of fraud, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

He was spotted by police in Marden and said to be "acting suspiciously" at around 12.35pm yesterday in a car parked in Chantry Road.

Police say he was verbally aggressive towards the officers and was detained for a search.

The haul of credit and bank cards were found in a rucksack along with documents in different names.

They also found he was carrying a number of mobile phones.

Drugs were found at his home address when it was searched.

The man was later bailed to return to the police station on March 15, while enquiries into the seized items continue.
