Frozen ice cream van impounded and driver arrested for failing drug wipe and not having licence

An ice cream man found himself in a sticky situation after being pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt - only to have his van seized.

The mobile parlour proprietor turned out to be disqualified from the roads and also failed a roadside drugs test in Mote Road Headcorn, near Maidstone.

His Frozen-themed van was seized and impounded.

Arresting officers from Kent Police's Roads Unit saw the funny side, tweeting: "Clearly we couldn't let him go," in reference to the Disney favourite which adorned his van.

Police have since confirmed a 31-yearold man from Bexhill, East Sussex, was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving and driving while disqualified.

He has since been released from custody pending further inquiries.
