The firm, established for 60 years, supplies home heating oil, farm fuels, road diesel and a wide range of industrial lubricants throughout the UK, in its easily recognisable red tankers.

Operations and logistics director Scott Roberts said: "Kent has excellent road links, one of the UK’s busiest ports in Dover, and hundreds of fantastic rural businesses.

"It makes sense for us to invest in the area. We aim to be our customers’ number one choice in Kent.

The Headcorn depot marks the latest in a series of investments by Watson Fuels. In the past 18 months, the distributor has also opened a new facility in Grangemouth in Scotland and another in East London, as well as modernising its 350-strong fleet of tankers.
