A road is closed after a crash between a van and a moped near the Weald of Kent Golf Club.

A person has been taken to a local hospital and the A274 Maidstone Road is shut both ways after the collision at around 2.30pm.

Kent Police are controlling traffic and emergency services have attended the scene, according to KCC Highways. Drivers are advised to expect delays in the area.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.

A spokesman for Kent Police said the force was called to "a collision involving a van and moped on Maidstone Road, Ashford.

"One person has been taken to a local hospital with injuries not described as life threatening. "Emergency services remain at the scene while the incident is attended to."
