Driver are facing tailbacks from Mill Bank southbound and from Biddenden Road as it crosses over the River Beult.

Motorists are being advised to consider using alternative routes.

Councillor Martin Round said: “Traffic is queuing all the way back to Sutton Valence, everything is at a complete standstill.

“There are more vehicles here with blue lights on than I have ever seen.

“I’m leading a campaign to improve the roads because people are getting sick to death of the number of accidents on the A274.

“Headcorn is in a state of chaos at the moment and hopefully we will get it sorted soon.”

More updates as they come.
