Mascalls Academy mourning sudden death of Year 10 pupil

Secondary school pupils and teachers are mourning the loss of a Year 10 student who died over the weekend.

The Mascalls Academy, in Paddock Wood, announced the devastating news on their website.

Principal Wayne Barnett said: "The Mascalls Academy community is today coming to terms with the tragic loss of one of its year 10 students at the weekend.

"During this difficult time, our thoughts are with his family and friends as they come to terms with their loss.

"We would kindly ask that you respect the privacy of our students so that they can also grieve privately.

"As a school, our priority will be providing support to students and staff affected, by providing access to trained counsellors who will help them to come to terms with this very sad news."
