Kent Wildlife Trust's first charity shop is opening soon.

The new store will be in Paddock Wood High Street, with all profits funding the trust's conservation work.

Managing more than 65 nature reserves as well as other wildlife sites, Kent Wildlife Trust also works with communities and organisations to help preserve the county's wonderful countryside.

The charity says the average person in the UK throws out 400kg of waste a year.

It hopes the store - due to open in the Easter holidays - will provide an affordable and sustainable alternative to throw-away fashion.

Items on sale will include clothes, books and DVDs as well as the trust's new Wilder Kent range of eco bamboo coffee cups, notebooks and water bottles.

Joe Gluck from Kent Wildlife Trust said: "As we become more ambitious in our conservation work, we must become equally ambitious in how we fund our vital projects.

"Having our first charity shop in Paddock Wood will not only help raise those funds, but also raise the profile of what we do in this area of Kent."

Donations can be dropped off at the charity’s headquarters at Tyland Barn, Sandling.
