The essential principles of tai chi include mind and body integration, fluid movements, controlled breathing and mental concentration. A low-impact, weight-bearing, aerobic exercise: To improve muscle strength, co-ordination, and flexibility To improve balance and decrease the risk of falls To ease pain and stiffness To improve sleep; and for overall wellbeing and reduce stress and anxiety It is supported by Arthritis, Osteoporosis and Diabetes foundations worldwide.
