Haze composed by Helen Caddick

The composer Helen Caddick has created this evocative work.
In 2016 Helen Caddick was commissioned to write a piece in response to the JMW Turner: Adventures in Colour exhibition held at Turner Contemporary, Margate. Haze is the result. Reacting to the sumptuous colours and use of light Turner employed in his work, Haze aims to create a further dimension for the audience, as if they themselves had stepped forward into the artworks. A new silent film by Phil Miller will be screened for the first time as backdrop to the live performance weaving images of the paintings which inspired Haze with footage of the coast which inspired Turner, seen as it is today. To partner the work, The Making of Haze will also be screened. This film documents Caddick's process from initial thoughts to performance. CantiaQuorum will perform Haze. As resident ensemble at the Colyer Ferguson concert hall, they are one of the finest ensembles performing in the U.K. today.
