Maidstone:Kent Showground hosts Military Odyssey for the bank holiday, 2018

It’s going to be explosive - Military Odyssey is back for the bank holiday weekend.

Now in its 18th year, the show brings history to life, as more than 4,000 re-enactors and living history enthusiasts take to the fields for displays, re-creating periods featuring the Romans and Vikings, to Medieval and Napoleonic times.

Step into the Wild West, or the American Civil War, or feel the atmosphere of the First and Second World Wars.

One of the world’s largest multi-period re-enactment shows, thousands flock to the showground every year to watch battle through the ages.

The 200-acre site will have two separate arenas as well as a main battlefield, where groups will square up to each other throughout the three-day weekend.
