Two Strictly fan favourites are teaming up for a dazzling new dance show.
Professional dancers Amy Dowden and Carlos Gu are hitting the road and taking their glittering new tour, Reborn, across the country, including one night in Bromley.
The show, which features snippets from both of the dancers’ lives as well as powerful routines and live vocalists, comes after Amy’s treatment for stage three breast cancer.
The Welsh dancer joined the Strictly cast in 2017 and has been partnered with the likes of McFly singer Tom Fletcher, TV presenter Karim Zeroual and EastEnders actor James Bye.
However, in 2023, Amy was diagnosed with breast cancer and forced to pull out of the series for a year while she underwent chemotherapy and surgery.
Amy returned to the dancefloor in 2024 and was paired with JLS band member JB Gill, from Sevenoaks. However, in week seven, she sustained an injury and could no longer continue in the competition.
In a recent interview with ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Amy, 34, admitted that she may have been ‘deluded’ about how long it would take her to recover after her diagnosis.
“I’m feeling so much stronger, fitter, especially in the last few months, since December, I realised, ‘Gosh, this is what I used to feel like’,” she said in an interview with GMB hosts Kate Garraway and Ed Balls. “I really do feel like I’ve got my strength, my stamina and my confidence back now.”
“I think I was deluded on the road to recovery at how long it would take for my body to heal, both physically and mentally.
“But I’m just so grateful to be in the place I am now, and to be on the dancefloor with my beautiful friend, Carlos.”
Chinese National Champion Carlos is one of the show’s more recent additions, having joined the cast in 2022.
He was partnered with singer and EastEnders star Molly Rainford in his first year, reaching the finals alongside Hamza Yassin, Helen Skelton and Fleur East.
In 2023, he danced with TV presenter Angela Scanlon. The pair reached sixth place.
Amy and Carlos will be at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley on Wednesday, March 26. You can book tickets online here.
