A seaside town is banishing the winter blues with a jazzy music festival.
The Broadstairs Blues Bash is a mostly free five-day festival that brings together old and new blues musicians for gigs, workshops and jam sessions.
The festival, now entering its 17th year on the Kent coast, boasts a busy programme with concerts by jive and swing cover band Hullabaloo, acoustic artist King Size Slim, electronic blues duo Zoe Schwarz and Rob Koral, and award-winning musician Trevor Babajack Steger.
These events are all free, with only the headline concerts at the Sarah Thorne Theatre and the Pavilion and three gigs at the Wrotham Arms being ticketed.
The rest of the line-up, which features more than 100 concerts, is free to attend.
Music fans can also join the Gospel Breakfast with the Thanet Jubilee Singers, the four-hour open mic jam session, or the slide guitar and harmonica workshops.
The events take place at various venues all over town, including Gadds Brewery, Royal Albion Hotel and York Street Methodist Church, as well as various pubs and bars.
The full programme for this year’s festival can be found online here. The digital programme is £3 and helps towards the cost of the website and printing.
The Broadstairs Blues Bash takes place from Wednesday, February 19 to Sunday, February 23.
