Bluewater: Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, who now presents Streetmate, will be in Bluewater to meet fans

Who could have dreamt that sitting on the sofa and watching a bit of telly for one County Durham lass could lead to being on it a few short years later?

For Scarlett Moffatt, it’s been something of a meteoric rise from appearing on Channel 4’s Gogglebox with her family to presenting prime time Saturday night TV with Ant and Dec and most recently having her own show, Streetmate, on Channel 4.

She started out on Gogglebox back in 2014 with her family, and became popular for her witty one-liners, including, in response to actor Martin Freeman’s Labour campaign, “I’m not taking political advice off a Hobbit.”

Her girl nextdoor charm, which included being open about her successful battle to shed four stone, and approachable personality proved a winning combination when she went on to be crowned the winner of last year’s I’m a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, which led to her achieving a dream of presenting with Ant and Dec on Saturday Night Takeaway.

Besides knocking out a top-selling fitness DVD, Scarlett’s Superslim Me, and a book, Scarlett Says, now she is presenting Channel 4’s Streetmate and releasing her autobiography book, Me Life Story: Sofa So Good! which is a warm, funny and honest account.

Expect there to be queues at Bluewater this weekend when Scarlett pops in to meet fans at Waterstones at 1pm on Saturday, October 28.

She’ll be signing copies of her book and having a chat – and we all know how good she is at that!

She said of coming to Bluewater: "I love nothing better than sitting on my sofa, in my comfies, brew in my hand and having a good old natter. I’d love you to join me and chat about me life so far, the crazy times, the highs, the lows and some funny (sometimes embarrassing) stories, sofa so good..! "

Bookseller Alice Wren added: "We’re excited to have the chance to host this event with Scarlett. With her funny and warm personality, we’re anticipating a lively signing."

Some of Scarlett’s best one-liners:

On Strictly: “Ed Balls? You can’t take anyone seriously with the name Balls.”

On GCSE results: “To everyone worrying about their A level results remember that Pitbull rhymed ‘kodak’ with ‘kodak’ and he is a millionaire.”

On that scene in Ghost: “Mum, have you and Dad ever done that?”
