Glyndebourne Tour 2017 at Canterbury's Marlowe Theatre

The 49th consecutive Glyndebourne Tour is on the road – and making its very first stop Canterbury’s Marlowe Theatre.

This year’s three productions are Mozart’s comedy Così fan tutte, Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Brett Dean’s critically-acclaimed new opera of Hamlet, Glyndebourne’s five-star smash of the summer festival.

They are running at the theatre until Saturday, November 4.

The aim of the tour is to bring world class opera to a wider audience, making it accessible and affordable.

British tenor David Butt Philip steps up to perform the title role in Hamlet, having previously sung Laertes in the acclaimed premiere in June this year.

Performing opposite him as Ophelia will be British soprano Jennifer France, who was shortlisted in the Young Singer category at the 2017 International Opera Awards.
