Fleabag by Broadchurch actress Phoebe Waller-Bridge at Canterbury's Marlowe Studio

Broadchurch fans will be interested in a work by a talented playwright who stars as a barrister in the ITV drama.

The strength of Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s writing can be seen in her Olivier Award nominated show Fleabag which is coming to Kent this week.

Phoebe, who plays prim Sophie Lambourne in Broadchurch, was joint winner of the Critics’ Circle most promising playwright 2013 and has a string of other awards to her credit.

In Fleabag, we see the world through the eyes of the eponymous heroine who is trying to deal with the death of her best friend. The pair had launched a guinea-pig themed cafe together. Following the added trauma of the break-up of her relationship with her boyfriend, the 20-something embarks on a quest to rediscover herself in a frenzied 48 hours.

Fleabag will be a role played by actress Maddie Rice.
