A performance company which brought dancing diggers to Kent will unveil its new high-flying dance-circus production here this summer.

Motionhouse's first tour of Nobody will open at the bOing! International Family Festival in Canterbury on the late August bank holiday weekend.

The show, which is made for all ages, will use dance-circus to take audiences on a spellbinding journey, packed with visual magic, using Motionhouse’s renowned highly physical style as well as digital projections.

Gulbenkian director Oliver Carruthers said: “We are so excited to have Motionhouse back at bOing! this year with Nobody. We are lucky to have Motionhouse regularly here at Gulbenkian, our audiences love everything that they do, and I know Nobody will be a massive hit at this year’s bOing!"

The company were at the festival last year and in 2015 brought JCBs as dance partners to the event.

Young people can also get involved by uploading creative work in response to the question #WhoAreYou? on a digital platform which will be viewed by Motionhouse’s artistic director, Kevin Finnan, and the company’s dancers to inspire them while they are making Nobody over the coming months.

He said: "Making new work is always an exciting time for me and the company. We’re really embracing the relationship between dance, digital and circus in a new way for this production; developing our movement language and playing with the digital imagery in a different way."

Nobody will be at bOing! in Canterbury on Saturday, August 29. The festival also runs on Sunday, August 30.

Nobody is commissioned by and created in partnership with the University of Kent, ART31 and Midlands Arts Centre, and supported by Dance Hub Birmingham, Arts Connect and the Leche Trust.
