Classic cars and vintage vehicles are revving up for a retro weekend as the Faversham Festival of Transport returns.

One of the county’s biggest car shows, the Faversham Festival of Transport is an annual celebration of cars, buses, motorcycles and a whole host of other vehicles, held in the historic market town.

The event, which takes place over the weekend, will give gearheads a chance to indulge in their favourite hobbies, meet fellow enthusiasts and view a huge number of vintage vehicles.

On Saturday, there will be a display of commercial vehicles such as lorries, vans, tractors and trucks, many of which will be recognisable from well-known brands and businesses.

Visitors can also enjoy the picturesque sights of this charming town with free vintage bus rides around the area, which includes the medieval Abbey Street, the trickling creek and vast green farmland.

You can also do a spot of shopping as the market will be open and bursting with craft stalls, food and drink stands and live music to keep you entertained.

On Sunday, the much-loved classic car show - which regular visitors might consider the ‘main event’ - sees the quiet town jam-packed with beautiful vintage cars.

Discover rare vehicles that you might not have seen before, marvel at decade-defining models, and perhaps even bring back memories with cars from your youth.

For the first time, there will also be an electric vehicle event taking place just outside of the town square all weekend. The display will give visitors a chance to understand how we can make driving more sustainable and get to know the rising technology that will see more and more cars become electric in the near future.

So, if you can’t get enough of classic vehicles but are also keen to see where the future of cars is heading, this bumper weekend is the place to be.
